    4th Weekend

The weekend was good, just too short!  Jeremy came home Thursday, got home around 6:30, so we went and ate Chinese and looked around some of the shops in the shopping center.  I hadn’t been to Big*Lots in years, so we went there.  It was more expensive then I thought it should be!  Maybe I’m just cheap!  I think that’s it!  Haha!

Friday we took the girls to see Kung*Fu*Panda, with Jack Black.  It was SO funny!  I highly recommend it!  There were parts that made me laugh out loud, that’s always a good thing!  We came home and I grilled burgers, brats and hot dogs and made some corn to go with.  It was yummy!  Anything on the grill tastes good!  Around 8:30 we went to his granny’s house with most of the family.  His male cousins are all in their 20’s, so they did all the lighting of the fire works, and sparklers for the girls.  So I got to just hang out and watch!  We got a new camera a few weeks ago and it has a fireworks setting.  So I got to try that out.  I’ll get some pictures up later, they’re pretty cool.  At one point I had the camera pointed up to get a shot of a firework and I hear his cousin go “oh shit!”  It takes me a second and I look down and there are purple fireworks heading horizontal, not vertical like they should be!  His uncle had been “doctoring” some of the bigger ones and it didn’t go as planned!  But since no one got hurt, it was funny!  His cousin was trying to video the firework on her phone, so the video is completely dark and you just hear her go “oh shit” and then you hear like people yelling.  It’s really funny!  We hung out with everyone until about 11:30 then went home to bed.

Saturday we just hung out at the house and were lazy.  Saturday night we went for sushi and stuffed ourselves like usual!  We always order WAY too much and we usually try 1 or 2 new things.  Well this time we didn’t like the new things we tried and we were stuffed, but we felt bad not taking the leftovers with us (even though we had NO plans on eating it!).  So we take most of what is left, except for like 6 pieces.  We’re getting ready to leave and the sushi chef is telling us to take it all, etc.  Again, we feel guity, so we pile it all in the box.  And we’re laughing too, ‘cause really, who feels guilty not taking left overs!?  Haha!  We leave with our box of stuff we don’t like and find the nearest dumpster to leave it in!  ‘Cause I don’t want raw fish sitting in my dumpster at home for 2 days in 90 degree heat!  YUCK!!  We rented movies that night, so I watched Fools Gold with my boyfriend Matt McC!  It’s pretty good, even Jeremy liked it!

Sunday was even more lazy than Saturday!  Jeremy left to go back to AZ about 7 pm, he hates to leave so he puts it off as long as he can.  Just did laundry and watched that movie Becoming Jane or Being Jane?  The one with Anne Hathaway playing Jane Austin and James McAvoy.  It was good, I liked it.  Then I went to bed and had to get up this morning and come to work.  Boo

My youngest started summer school today.  And the school was SO not organized!  Last week I had her transferred to another school for summer school so she could stay in her summer program before/after and also wouldn’t have to drive the girls 2 different places and pick them up 2 different places.  So I take her to school this morning to find her class and get her set up.  They’re not doing it that way, the kids meet in the cafeteria and get their teachers from there.  So I think ok, she’s set.  Wrong!  I get a call from her summer program teacher about an hour after school started saying she went with her grandpa for the day!  Apparently the school didn’t have an updated roster and thankfully my brother in law is going to the same school for summer school and my FIL was there.  Otherwise the school would have had no way to contact me and say they didn’t have her on their list!!!!!  Hello!  She’s 7!  It was a big cluster f***!  I call the district and they’re the ones that tell me the school didn’t have the correct roster, they’re coming to get a new one about noon and I can go to the school to get it all settled.  Yeah, ‘cause I don’t have to work or anything!  I already took time off this morning to get her set up, and look what happened there.  I talked to my FIL and he said there were a bunch of kids not on the list.  What did they do with all those kids they didn’t have contact info for their parents?  I’m so not happy about this!  I’m lucky my FIL was there and that she could have also gone to the summer program.  Otherwise she would be sitting at a school that didn’t have a clue!  The more I sit here thinking about it, the more I’m not happy about it.

Well I hope everyone had a great weekend!  And I’ll try to get picks up tonight!

    June 09

    Updates and Shrimp and grits!

I think all my new adds are called “update” why break the streak now?  Jeremy is still in AZ, the girls are still driving me crazy, I still love the people I work with….um I don’t know what else there is to update?!  The girls just got out of school last week, they’re on a year round type schedule, and they go back July 28th!  The youngest is going to summer school in July for 3 weeks, since when does elementary school have summer school?  So then I will have even more out of the way stops for day care in the morning and afternoon, as a “single” mom!  What fun!!  And I still have to get day care arranged for her, because at the school that summer school is being held there’s not a after/before program.  What the hell kind of sense does that make?  School starts at like 845 and is out at like 345!  HELLO!!

I love food!  And for some reason when I’m proud of what I make, I take pictures of it!  I work with a lady from Louisiana, and my dad’s family is from Louisiana/Mississippi, so I love southern/Cajun food and always talk to her about it.  Well I’d seen shrimp and grits on tv programs and always wanted to try it but never found a restaurant with it on the menu.  So I made shrimp and grits yesterday and it was pretty good!  There’s actually ham in it too, who would’ve thunk!   I obviously couldn’t find the Tasso ham, I think that’s what it’s called, so I used pancetta like Paula Deans recipe said could be substituted.  Yea, didn’t like it with the pancetta, tasted too much like prosciutto, although the rest of it was very tasty!.  So next time I think I’ll either use just a ham steak or salt pork (if I can find that).  But yeah!  I’ve finally had shrimp and grits!!  I can't get the picture to work right now, but when I do, I'll put it up!

    feeling blah today

Well Jeremy left to AZ on Sunday.  His dad has a large flat trailer, so they put his Ranger and motorcycle on that, filled the beds up with furniture and off they went.  He got a 1 bedroom apt for now, until the girls and I get down there in a few months.  It’s only 6 hours away, so we’ll still see him for weekends.  So the house has been quiet the last few nights, plus he took our little min pin Coco with him.  I’m so used to her following me or being in blankets (you have to watch out when you sit down!).  So it’s a bit empty feeling at home right now.

My SIL, BIL and the baby were in town this weekend, so that was good at least!  We went to the MIL’s house on Saturday for lunch with everyone and then saw them that night at my FIL’s.  The baby is 4 months now, and laughing and just as cute as could be!  The girls and I went to Jeremy’s granny’s on Sunday after he left to see SIL again and spend some more time with them before they left town.  My SIL used to live with us in Jersey, and ever since she left, we hardly see her now that she’s married and living down south.  So I miss her a lot and am always SO excited when they come to town.

Other than that, there’s not much to report on…

    Update...again!

It’s been so long since I’ve posted, I feel so bad.  I keep up with everyone’s blogs, just not so good at keeping up with mine! Plus, besides the everyday blahs not much has happened.

Ok, I’m  lying, there has been some things happening.  About the 2nd week of January, Jeremy’s dad decided they would in fact not be able to afford him any longer.  So he’s been out of work for just about over a month now.  He starts next Monday in AZ at the Army school house teaching the job he did for the Army both as an enlisted person and also as a civilian.  So he’ll be going out to AZ this weekend to get settled.  The girls and I will stay in NM until school is out and we sell the house or rent out the house.  We haven’t decided what to do about it yet.  And in today’s market, I’m dreading dealing with it at all!

Work is going really well for me, we’ve just come off a ramp so our hiring is slowing down a bit, but I’ve got other projects to do so I’m keeping very busy.  I love the people I work with so it will be hard to leave.  Plus, just the fact of having to find yet another job, I’m SO not looking forward to that!

We’ve caught the dog bug again in my house.  Since Jeremy has been home, he was watching the dog show on TV last week and started emailing me dogs from local shelters!  I’m the one that usually catches this bug and is the one doing the emailing!  That’s how we ended up with our 3 dogs!  When he called me and said he sent me some dogs I just started laughing and told him he’d caught the bug!  So I started looking online too and ended up at the IMPS website, the same place we got our 2 min pins from a few years back. Since Jeremy is headed to AZ I looked at the AZ dogs available and found the cutest 5 year old chocolate min pin.  And it’s a boy!  I showed Jeremy and he was like “let’s get him!”  So we are in the process of applying, finding out more info on him, etc.  If anyone has adopted a dog lately, you’ll know it’s almost as intensive a process as adopting a person!  So we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we get him.  His current name is Corbin and I usually want to keep the names they come with from the shelter/foster home, but I don’t know if I could keep the name Corbin.  Really don’t like it!  So if we get him, Corbin may become Enzo!  Here’s a picture from the IMPS site, not too great a picture but enough to see what he looks like.  He’s beautiful!

Hope everyone is doing well, like I said I do keep up with your blogs!  Talk to everyone soon!

    Christmas

Updates!  Not much to update except for I’ve been SUPER busy at work!  I usually email my one friend throughout the day, but I’ve been so busy she’s been wondering if I was mad at her!

Christmas at our house was good.  I only started to shop on the 20th, so I had a BUSY weekend!  We did Christmas with my MIL on Sunday, since my SIL and her family were only in town for like 24 hours!  That was pretty good, my hubby had to work so he didn’t have to go!  Monday, Christmas eve, morning we did Christmas with my FIL and that was nice too.  Left the kids there and finished shopping and actually wrapped everything!  I am usually up until like 3 am Christmas eve night wrapping everything!  I swear that for next year, I’m starting early!  Instead of trying to cram $hopping into a few weeks, I’m going to spread out the spending!  Of course I say this every year.  But this year, I’m sticking to it!  Even if it’s only little things like stocking stuffers!  Buy it, throw it into a box, and be better prepared!  We’ll see how that goes!  Christmas morning we got up about 7:30, opened the presents with the girls, showered and spent the rest of the day at hubby’s granny’s house.  It was so nice, you can kick your shoes off and take a nap, you don’t have to visit if you don’t want, just kick back and watch Christmas movies on tv.  We came home around 6, watched movies and just hung out while the girls played with all their crap!  Back to work today, for 3 days, and then another 4 day weekend!  Yeah!  Hope everyone had a good holiday!

I might not post often, but I do visit your guys’ sites!

    November 06

    Updates

Hey all, I’m back.  I’ve been around to visit you guys, just in a funk and not much to say.  Halloween was good, I had a grim reaper and a spider queen.  We went to their granny’s house, as she feeds the kids, then we hit her street.  Then we went to their aunt’s house, as they always decorate really cool and hit their street.  By the time we got home it was 8 o’clock and cold and windy, so we called it a night.  It was my birthday this past Sunday, so we went to eat at the Melting Pot, the fondue place.  It was pretty good.  Sunday my actual birthday, I just relaxed, watched movies and took the girls to get some jeans.  I put some laundry away, cleaned my room and did some more laundry.  Nothing too exciting.  I can’t believe Thanksgiving is just weeks away.  But since we’re home, we go to granny’s house and she cooks for everyone.  So it should be good, good food, family and relaxing!  I hope everyone is good, I’ll stop by y’alls pages too!

    Life cards

    Comedy/Ruidoso

The weekend was so good!  Friday we went downtown to the Kiva auditorium and saw Jeff Dunham, he’s a comic that is also a ventriloquist.  He’s been on Comedy Central, although I’d never seen any of his stuff.  But he was really funny, and since I’d never seen him, it was all new material for me!  When we saw Larry the Cable Guy 2 years ago, a lot of his stuff we’d already heard, but he was still really funny.

Saturday, the girls and I got up early and went down to Ruidoso to see my SIL.  We got there about 11, waited for my BIL to get there and went to eat.  After we ate we went to Cloudcroft to see some lumberjack competition.  We got there around 3 or so, so most of it was over.  It wasn’t all that, but it was nice to be outside in the mountains.  We walked around the town a little bit, went into some of the stores.  There was one that was lotions, soaps, candles, etc.  It was really nice, I told my SIL next time we’ll have to go there again (when I have more money!).  There was a biker rally in Ruidoso so there were probably at least 1,000 bikers, maybe more, in that area.  Midtown was CRAZY full of bikers.  But it seemed as though they all behaved themselves, so it was all good.  We got back to Ruidoso around 6-7, went to eat, then home and watched a movie.  I was so tired, I missed most of the movie ‘cause I feel asleep on the couch.  The girls slept on the sofa bed, and I got a bed all to myself!  No dogs, no husband, it was nice!!  Sunday we got up and ate, hung around for a little bit, and then took the girls to play putt-putt.  They had a mechanical bull there, so the girls rode the bull!  It was really funny!  After that, we went and ate and then walked around Ruidoso for a bit.  Then it was time to go home L.  It was a good weekend though; I’m glad we went and got to see my SIL.  She told me last Thursday the doctor told her it would probably only be another 2 weeks or so as the baby has nowhere else to go!  I’m so excited for her to have the baby!

And now it’s Monday, back at work!  The girls told me yesterday that they had in-service today, so Jeremy is home with them and I’m jealous!!  I want to be home today, as it’s gray outside, perfect for a lazy day!  Oh well, I’m also trying to figure out a way to get a tour at the General Mills plant where we have people working.  Partially to see what goes on over there and partially to get out of the building!

Here's my youngest on the bull, I couldn't get the other picture to work off my phone to my email...

    This weekend

So I think we're (either all of us or just me and the girls) are gonna go down and visit my SIL and BIL in Ruidoso, NM.  I'm excited, not that there's anything big planned, but I just like to hang out with her.  We'll probably just sit around most of the time, since we're all broke, but oh well.  I'll get to cook her the chicken and rice that she loves so much.  She's due in about 3-4 weeks, and I'm SO excited!  I feel very lucky, she asked if I'd be in the room with her when she has him.  They're naming him Scott David, after both of their dads, which is nice.  I can't wait to meet my nephew and be his favorite Auntie!   I'll probably just pick up the girls after work and head out of town straight away as it takes about 3 hours to get down there.  I can't wait to see her/them!  My BIL is nice too, I don't really know him all that well, but he's always been nice and I don't feel uncomfortable around him, so that is always good, we can be ourselves.  So I'm excited to go.  I just have to make it through 2 more boring days of work!!  Wish me luck!!

    Work is lame...

So we bring on new people every week.  So this week, nothing has been done and now it's a mad scramble to get people for TOMORROWS orientation!  Plus I was on the phone this morning trying to schedule a safety training that everyone has to have before they can go on site.  Everyone said they could do it Friday, our people have a site orientation that they've waited a week to get into the class.  So far, I have one person for tomorrow, only because I just went ahead a started the process with him.  No one has called him to discuss position/pay.  Great.

I want a Micheleta.  It sounds SO good right now!  It's a bloody mary with a Tecate beer, like a fizzy bloody mary.  I just might have to get the supplies and make one!

I SO need to win the lottery so I don't have to work anymore and I can just move to San Antonio already!!

    Is it Friday yet?  Blah....
    September 04

    My friends are great!

What a weekend!  Four days in San Antonio!  It was bliss and perfect and filled with old friends!  I flew in early Friday and ran around with my friend Melissa who was getting married the next day.  We ran errands for the wedding and had lunch and caught up.  I haven’t seen her in about 5 years, but we picked up again where we left off.  It was so great to be able to spend some time with her before the wedding!  I am so proud of her.  She had her oldest son at 17, but look at her today!  She’s a home loan specialist, just got married to a really great guy who treats her and her oldest son fantastically.  They have a 2 year old together and he treats both boys like his own.  The older son’s dad was NEVER around, so she did it alone (with help from family) but basically alone until she met James 6 years ago.  He really stepped up and was a dad to Nathan.  He’s a really great guy and I’m so happy for them.  It was weird when the Father announced them and now she’s Melissa Martinez, not Melissa Ramos, like I’d known her for the past 17 years!  That makes me teary, but for good reasons.  The wedding was great and she’s so happy, I’m so happy for her.

I stayed with my friend Blanca, whom I’ve known for 16 years now.  She, Melissa and I used to run around in middle school with 2 other girls, it was always the 5 of us.  We don’t talk to the other 2 anymore, just drifted away from one and the other one is just bad news if you ask me!  I float in and out of contact with Blanca over the years, but she was nice enough to offer me her couch.  It really was great to be with her again.  We went out to dinner for her birthday on Friday, then on to some other bars as well.  It was a great time, kind of funny to hang out as “adults”.  But it was great, I saw her mom, whom I haven’t seen since probably 9th grade!  That was funny, her mom is so funny!  Blanca welcomed me into her home like I had just been there yesterday, and it meant a lot to me.  I’m so glad I stayed there and we were able to catch up on the years I’d been away and I got to know the grown-up Blanca.  We went to the mall on Monday, my last day, we shopped a bit, then sat down and ate and just talked for like an hour.  Then we had to go so I could go to the airport, that part sucked!  I miss her already.

Sunday I spent with my friend Vicky, we’ve been friends since 3rd grade, 20 years now.  I haven’t seen her in 2 years, but like always, we picked right back up.  I met her at her house in Austin when she got off work.  He husband, who I have issues with, made an appearance and said hi, then we left.  So we went to eat and had drinks and had a great time.  We talked about her husband and I told her that I was over trying to be his friend; I didn’t care anymore, as long as I still saw her.  She said she was basically over trying to cater to him and his issues with people, that he would just have to deal with being uncomfortable if she invited friends over.  I was glad she said that, because in the past I only ever saw her if he was at work (he’s a fireman and works shifts).  We used to do crafts a lot and always in the middle I would decide I was bored, we always laugh about that.  So we decided we would do crafts and went looking for a Hobby lobby, which are closed on Sundays.  So we went looking for a Wal-Mart and ended up downtown.  Since we were there, we decided to go to a bar, and found this cool place, drank and played darts.  By 10pm we were very well off and went home to bed.  I only got a few hours with her, but I loved it and we made some more memories to add to the 20 years we have already.  I love this girl to death and hope it’s not another 2 years before I see her again.   I added a picture from that night, it's not great 'cause it was with my cell phone, but I still love it.

So I came home last night and I still miss my town.  Jennifer, over at On My Mind blogged about spending time on her grandparents farm.  She said that is where she feels love and happiness, etc.  San Antonio is where I feel that.  If home is where the heart is, my home is San Antonio.  My parents don’t live there; neither does my sister or brother, just my friends and the memories we’ve made there.  I hope one day I can live there again and have bbq’s with my friends and their kids.  Escape to Target with a girlfriend when my husband drives me crazy.  Take our kids to the zoo or just to the park.  That is my dream life.  My friends in SA are so much my family, I tell them things I don’t tell my family, not to discount my family in any way though.  I’ve always been very close with my small group of friends that have lasted through the years.  This weekend was great, I was able to toast to my friend’s birthday, another friends marriage and to a friendship that has lasted 20 years and will continue on for many more.  So, Tuesday, back at work in NM, I raise my coffee to my friends and our friendships that have lasted and just keep getting better!  Love you guys, and here’s to many more years.

    August 30

    TX here I come!!

Yeah it’s Thursday!!  We ended up getting Tessa this weekend, and so far so good.  The min pins have some adjusting to do still, but nothing major.  Tessa is such a sweetie!  She’s got some learning to do still and she licks you every chance she gets, but I love her!

I’m off to San Antonio tomorrow for a 4 day weekend!  I can’t wait!  My friend from the 6th grade is getting married on Saturday.  I’m excited to see her and her family and some other friends as well.  Jeremy and the girls are staying home, so I get a weekend to myself!  It’s my other friends’ birthday, so we’re doing dinner for her tomorrow night.  It’s funny, she and I have been friends since middle school too and I used to be scared of her mom.  Her mom will be at dinner, it’ll be funny!  Her mom was nice, but she just always yelled and stuff.  I’ve still got laundry to do and still have to pack, so tonight will be busy.  Plus Big Brother comes on, so I’ve got to watch that.  But I can fold/pack while I watch that.  My best friend from 3rd grade lives in Austin now, but her family is still in San Antonio, so I hope to see them too!  I can’t wait!!!  TX here I come!

Hope every one has a great Labor Day weekend, be careful!

    August 27

    AAHHH!!!

I so need to win the lottery!  This job is killing me!  I’m being bored to death!  It’s SO hard to sit her for about 6 ½ hours with not much to do.  I have stuff to do about 1 ½ hours of the work day, but the rest, not so much.  I’m so flippin’ bored!!

PS- We got Tessa yesterday, she's a handful!  But with some training, I think she'll be GREAT!  I found out today that Steve Irwin went to another family.  Jeremy will be bummed about that, as he really liked him.  Jeremy's not toooo fond of Tessa yet, but that's because she's not a perfect dog yet.  He's used to Coco and Nelly who don't do anything bad except occaisonally poop on the floor.

    August 24

    It's raining dogs!

I’m a blogging machine lately!  Probably has something to do with the fact that I don’t have a ton of stuff to do here at work.  Yesterday I was pretty busy in the afternoon.  Every Thursday we have people coming in for new hire orientations.  So yesterday I basically ran that for the first time.  It went well, but we put on a video for them and I just gotta get the timing of the sections, so I know when to give them what.  But it went well anyway.

Today is going to be a long day here at work.  I’ve done all my stuff from having those guys in yesterday, so now I don’t have much do to.  Plus I have a lot going on this weekend that I’m excited about, that only makes the day worse!

Saturday I’ve got my SIL’s baby shower.  Then Saturday night I’m going for margaritas with my friend to celebrate her making the list for promotion in the AF.  Yum, Chili’s margaritas here we come!!!  Jeremy’s going to ride a bull on Saturday, don’t know if I’ll make that.  Plus I don’t know if I want to watch in case he gets hurt!!

Sunday we’re (I mean the girls and I, ‘cause Jeremy’s a butt head!) going up to Las Vegas, NM to look at another dog, Tessa.  The lady says she’s really sweet and loves to cuddle on the couch.  Sounds great!  The visit went well with Steve Irwin, but the lady said there are a few families interested in him, so we’ll see.  Jeremy’s cousin and his girlfriend were there last night when Steve was there, and EVERYONE loved him.  He was bigger than I expected, but that’s not a problem.  When they left, Jeremy was like “go get Steve Irwin back!!”  We might end up with 4 dogs!  Crazy!  I’m very excited to see this new dog, Tessa too!  Here's some pictures of her from the Petfinders page, she's a lab or a lab X.

    August 23

A little of this, a little of that

Ahhh, it’s Thursday!  Thursdays are always good.  They mean it’s almost Friday!  And Fridays are definitely good!  The dog Nazi was supposed to come yesterday and bring Steve Irwin to meet us.  But she called around noon and said she had to reschedule for today because she forgot she had something previously scheduled.  I call her (and most people involved in the dog adopting process) Dog Nazis because they usually make you feel so bad about yourself, like you’re somehow never going to be good enough.  I understand they want a good home for the dog; we just had a bad experience with a lady when we were looking for dogs when we got our min pins.  I know they do good work and are helping the dogs, but I’ll still call them dog Nazis.  Jeremy said last night that she’d call me today and say “oh sorry, Steve Irwin got adopted last night!”  That would be our luck!

It ended up my car just needed a new battery, thank goodness!  Way cheap to fix!  Loved it!

I’ve started going to the gym again.  The one here is only $35 a month with no contract.  I only had to pay some fees associated from when I was a member in ’05 and I was good to go!  When I was a member before I had it taken automatically off my debit card/Visa.  Well then my daughter lost my card, so they kept trying to run that card after I’d canceled it due to the loss.  So I had to pay fees from that, oh well.  I went to yoga last night.  When I went before, there was a guy that taught one of the classes and he was really good.  This lady last night, not so much.  She was just annoying, and I couldn’t get as into it as I did with that guy.  Wow, that sounds sort of bad!  She was just really cheesey, I know it’s all about feeling your breath and all that, but she was cheesey.  If the dog Nazi wasn’t coming tonight, I’d go again tonight to try out a different teacher.  There are I think 3 different people that teach this class on different nights.  I’ll have to try another and see if I like them better.  Then I went and did 2 miles on the treadmill.  Mostly brisk walking, but it’s a start!  I don’t think I’ll make it tonight, a lot to do around the house.

My SIL’s baby shower is this weekend.  She hardly come into town, when she does it’s usually for only like a day or half a day to pick up something and turns around and goes back home.  So we hardly see her at all.  I was talking to her yesterday about the shower and when is she coming to town, does she want to drive out to her moms house together?  Well her MIL is coming in on Friday, so she’s going to the shower with her since the MIL doesn’t know where it is.  Ok fine, I understand.  I asked her if she wanted to come out with my friend and I for dinner on Saturday night, thinking it would get her out.  Well she can’t because she’ll probably go to dinner with her MIL.  Um, she sees her MIL all the time; they live like 10 mins. away from them!  I was pretty pissed last night!  After she told me this, I was just like “uh huh, yeah, really” as responses to the conversation.  My feelings were hurt that she would rather see someone she always sees rather than hang out with me.  I told my husband all this and said I know I was probably being a “girl”.  But even he was like “yeah, my sister is lame now.”  Oh well, what can I do?

    Everyone have a happy Thursday!!

    Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

So my car won't start, we think it's the starter and we might get a "new" dog.  I had this all typed out and the stupid thing lost it when I went to add a picture!!!  The dogs name is Steve Irwin and he's cute!

    mini bikes

Well the hubby brought home 2 mini-bikes yesterday.  One is about ½ to ¾ scale old school chopper and the other is a mini crotch rocket, the seat is about 2-3 feet high (perfect size for me!).  They’re on “lay-away” at our house!  I guess he’ll just have some money taken out of his check every week as they’re from his dads shop that he works at.  Will put some pictures up when I take some, they’re pretty cool.  As I’ve never ridden a motorcycle, I’m learning on these.  The chopper is semi-automatic, so all you do is change the gears with the foot lever.  The crotch rocket has a clutch and I’m not used to shifting up (putting the lever up to shift to 2nd, etc, I’m used to shifting down).  So the crotch rocket is proving a bit difficult for me to grasp.  We live in a cul-de-sac, so last night I was just going up and down our street practicing.  I was riding the chopper and the guy who lives 2 houses up asked if he’d want to sell it, I told him I didn’t think so but I knew where he could get one.  I wonder if my FIL would give me a referral bonus!?  Doubt it!  Here's a link to the site, it's old and it sucks, but just a tasting of what they sell.

I decided last night that my house is total chaos when it comes to homework/folders from school.  So I made up a check off sheet last night to go on the fridge.  It has boxes for spelling/phonics, math, reading and folder checks.  I hope this will help me win the war on homework since my kids like to say they don’t have homework in a certain subject and then the next day I find it in the folder/bag/floor of their room.  The folder check box is for me, as I can go for a week without checking their folder (I’m a bad mom!!).  I hope this works and gets/keeps us on track and organized.

We’re having my youngest’s birthday this weekend, a bbq at our house with the family.  Low key, just grill some burgers and hang out.  Gotta clean up a bit, mostly just tidy the place and clean the “public” bathroom.  She’s a music freak so she asked for an mp3 player.  Even though she’s only going to be 7 and is total irresponsible, I’ll probably get her one to fulfill her love of music.  She’s always singing along to the radio in the car.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

    Dream house!

Since I was so busy on Monday, I was looking at real estate online.  I do this ALL the time since I love houses and furniture, etc.  I found a new house here in ABQ that I'm in love with!  It's a new contemporary house built in partnership with DWELL magazine, one of my favorites.  Here is a link to the info.  I plan on winning the lottery this week so I can afford the $2.19 million price tag!  Wish me luck!
